More About the Position
You’ll be the backbone of care homes, providing crucial support to patients by bathing, dressing, toileting, dressing, and medication management. Plus, you could be put in charge of organising activities like days out to the museum or park so residents can stay connected with others. This is a huge part of alleviating depression and loneliness. In essence, your job is to promote independence and emotional stability insofar as you can while helping with hygiene and living tasks.
In addition, you’ll need to keep detailed records of medication administration, behaviour, and mood. This information is crucial for keeping in touch with doctors and nurses. You might also take charge of liaising with families and friends, keeping them updated on their loved one’s condition and well-being. Moreover, you’re responsible for keeping patients safe. You’ll need to monitor risks like falls and acute illness.
