09 Nov The Rate of Pay & How Much Agency Nurses Make
The rate of pay varies from client to client, and it would be impossible to mention all the different rates of pay here. Preferred Supplier Clients we work with generally present us with pre-negotiated lower rates. Although the lower rates sound unfavourable, ongoing bookings are typically guaranteed.
Higher rates, however, result from speciality and emergency rates. Higher rates also vary from client to client, but the shifts are not as frequent as PSL clients’ shifts. Because so many rates are applicable, it is your responsibility to accept or deny the rates presented to you by your consultant upon booking shifts.
How Proximity Healthcare Conducts Payments
Proximity, as a highly competitive medical recruitment agency in London, pays our candidates weekly. The compensation you receive at the end of the week depends on the shifts you have worked.
Your compensation will undoubtedly be more if you have worked a night shift in a high-risk facility or a high-profile establishment – to name a few factors. Your degree of expertise also contributes to your payment.
Pay As You Earn (PAYE)
If you work for one of our Preferred Suppliers that falls under the NHS, you will receive a salary from Proximity Healthcare at the end of your work week. The salary that is reflected in your account is your net salary. This means that your income tax has already been deducted, and you do not have to worry about doing your taxes.
Essentially, we ensure that you do not commit tax fraud unintentionally and that the tax you pay goes towards your education, healthcare, and much more! This is known as National Insurance Contributions.
How Proximity Healthcare Receives Your Payment
Because we are affiliated with 3 Preferred Suppliers (PSL) that fall under the National Healthcare System (NHS), we receive payment from them. Because Proximity Healthcare technically employs you, we pay your income tax to the HMRC based on your income, and then we pay you.
We receive payment through the NHS; they receive funds for patient care through the State, Health Insurance, Veterans Benefits – if you are a British citizen – or upfront payment from the patient.
